Hey everyone, so I was also accepted to Brown University and still can’t believe its actually happening! Now that I got the acceptance letter in the mail and its online is there anything else I’m supposed to do? I literally read the letter the day it came out and haven’t done anything else.

Congratulations, @Vantose56! The first thing you have to do is let Brown know that you accept their offer of admission. I think the deadline for that is sometime in January.

not sure about Brown but start looking into the dorms to see if they offer choices that you might like. hit google maps to start checking out the campus and surrounding area. try to get as much information as possible before you show up so that you hit the ground running.

First year students at Brown do not choose dorms. Roommate and dorm assignment are done by the housing office. There will be a housing questionnaire to fill out sometime in the spring that is used to help make roommate pairings.

Have your parents book their hotels for move-in weekend and parents weekend in October 2015.
There should be an ED day-on-college-hill event in February, but I haven’t seen a date for that yet. anyone know when that will be?

@Vantose56: there really isn’t that much to do now. I know it feels like a let-down, but the main stuff won’t start coming at least until the RD applicants are in and decided (May). There may be an “ED ADOCH” event (they started that a few years ago), but I wouldn’t suggest going unless you live close by - it’s not really worth the cost of travel just to get another campus tour.

For now, enjoy the rest of your senior year, and do fun things!
