After being admitted who's doing this?

A kid at my school wore a Harvard shirt all throughout the beginning of his senior year. Needless to say he stopped wearing it when he was waitlisted... :)

haha.....I like your screen name :D Astro geek :( lol

for me, i was rejected by stanford and the person next to me was accepted. in order to show that she got accepted to the class, she had to bring her acceptance letter and place it square on her desk for everybody and me to see. oh yeah, and during class time some of her friends brought stanford balloons to congratulate her.

i thought i was over the rejection, but it sorta hurt to be reminded of it the next day.

Ouch!! That's not cool :</p>

I am shocked to see someone on the Harvard board spell "etiquette" "edicate" and no one catches it!

Yeah they do. There are so many UF shirts in my school. Most of the top seniors go there.....WELL I WANNNA BREAK EXPECTATION!!

HARVARD ALL THE WAY.....(or Princeton and Yale........ :))

hEY LETS THINK OF WHAT AN IMAGINARY HARVARD SHIRT WILL HAVE ON IT....I WIL START ANOTHER THREAD

Well I don't plan on flaunting Harvard but if I'm asked (IF i get in with a BIG if) I won't be able to stop myself from smiling and maybe even jumping up and down. I mean its my dream school that I never expect to get into and I'd be really excited and couldn't tell anyone with a straight face. But with the problem of hurting rejectee's feelings I don't have that problem because no one I know applied at my school except me. But I wouldn't flaunt it because then people would feel bad cuz I turned down their dream school (UVA) when they didn't even get in. So I'd only tell people who's feelings wouldn't be hurt unless they ask me cuz I'm not going to try to great lengths to avoid it.

I would basically act as casually as i normally do, but I would finish every phrase with a second pause and a nonchalant "veritas." I mean, it does mean truth, so it wouldn't be out of the ordinary, like I was just stating what I just said is the truth. Unfortunately, people would probably get ****ed off and stop talking to me. Who cares though? I'd be in at Harvard!

even though, yeah, its just another school, there are different rules. like i'd never put "harvard '10" in my profile on AIM bc that would sound ridiculously pretentious. and when people ask me what im doing next year, i say im going to college. i find it slightly awkward to drop the H bomb. i was in one class and someone congratulated me on getting in early so my teacher asked me where. i quietly mumbled harvard. he couldnt hear so i repeated myself and he still couldnt hear so everyone just kinda yelled HARVARD. good times...

i find it slightly awkward to drop the H bomb.

Me too. I try to avoid it. When people ask me where I applied I always choose to forget to tell them Harvard unless they ask me "anywhere else?"

"after being admitted" assumes that we get in :-P

lol baggins, i know what you mean. when people ask me which colleges i'm applying to i'm like... uhhhh UC berkeley UCLA and UC San Diego and i never include the Ivies and MIT

well i haven't decided yet if i'm choosing harvard, but i did stop in at my local COOP yesterday and buy a harvard drawstring backpack for my track spikes (they were out of Nalgenes, which was what i wanted). figure i'll try out the merchandise and see how it feels...maybe that will help me make my decision.

hehe, yeah.. I always get the "You? apply to Harvard" look afterward.. :)
so, well, i always try avoid the question..

And yes, I'm definitely praying I get in first....

on this note, a cute story........this great girl from my school who graudated last year and was not only bright but very unique, really marched to her own beat kind of girl, but in a good way, applied to 4 schools, one was Harvard, the last one to find out about. She got waitlisted at Brown and Yale, in at Carnegie Mellon, her dad went there and lo and behold got into Harvard. Her mom found out before she did, picks her up from school with her entire car decked out in maroon and white balloons, Andi has no idea what this is all about, until her mom says, who is most unusual herself, We are taking a road trip, get in the car, we are going to visit your new school, Harvard! I happened to be there because we do lacrosse together and we were all waiting to be picked up, and off they drove, she missed school for a celebratory road trip, they drove up to harvard to celebrate, you see someone like that and you are genuinely happy for them! Her mom was beyond ecstatic as she had never attended college, a real artsy type and now has a daughter who is at Harvard, dreams do happen! All the best to you!!

haha wow, that is a pretty nice story!! Good luck to you too (if you applied)! :)

such a cute story, kellyconn!

reallly cute story!

How funny would it be if Harvard revoked her admission for unexcused absence from school?
