How many days do you have between graduation and basic? What are you going to do?

I have two weeks and I want to go visit my family in Vietnam for a farewell since it’s probably going to be a good ten years until I can visit them again but severe jetlag probably isn’t the best thing to have on the hill. What a dilemma, I do miss them dearly.

I'll have 4 weeks. One week for a family vacation, and the rest, something fun :)., lots of beach for sure.

I would reccomend at least a full day's rest before starting the trip here. I used the last 3 or so to say goodbyes and take it easy.

You could also think about an early visit to Colorado \sprins -- for altitude adjustment purposes!

I've got 4 weeks. I will be going to the Bahamas the first week. (I've never been before- it's gonna be sweet!). Then I'm just gonna hang out with friends and family for the rest of the time.

Yeah, I know a couple of guys who are at USAFA who said they left home like a week early and visted parts of colorado and the 'springs so that they could get acclimated early. Did any of you current USAFA guys do that? If you did, did it help much?

My room mate did and he said it helped him out. I didn't and I wish I had. On our second day here we ran the AFT and I pretty much puked my guts out and my time was absolutely horrible. I might have done a bit better had I been here for a few days longer. But do what is important to you, if you have limited time with friends and family, spend it with them.

i'd rather be puking than not having the time to spend with my friends and family.

I think the AFT will hurt either way you go. If it is a family vs. altitude situation, I would spend time with family. (Just be running at home.)

Bleumer, just wanted to say I read your post and I feel for you being so far from your family. I wish you the best of luck in your service and thank you, in advance, to all for your dedication and sacrifice!

Assuming I get accepted for 2012 I would probably have at the most a week and a half before I'd have to report. You lucky people that get out of school earlier than us northern people!

Indeed, my graduation date is June 20th. About a week until I-day for the Academy.

I have 2 1/2 weeks from graduation to I-day. I'm probably going to visit my Navy sister in San Diego (assuming that's where she gets stationed next), and relax and soak up the time I have left with my friends. My parents also want my room cleared out before I leave so I'm going to be spending some time clearing things out, giving things away, and boxing up the leftovers. :) Fun, fun.

Yep, same with me, except I will graduate a little earlier. What is it, 97 days now 'till I-day?

Yeop! Race to the finish line! Or I guess it's more the starting line. :)

Hey redhead, it's sophia. you're unreachable. What are our plans?

i'd have almost a month til I-day if i get accepted :) oh the joys of goin to school in the south.... lol
