Hofstra and Marquette…

Thanks, I’ve already been accepted to UMass Lowell for Computer Engineering.

I’ll check out Hofstra and Marquette as well.

That might be a signal that they have less money to contribute than they are letting you believe.

Have they told you that UMass Lowell (to which you have been admitted) is definitely affordable?

Yes for sure. Either UMass school that I’ve applied to is definitely well within reach.

Don’t lose hope on WPI…You may get in. Can you send them something highlighting your first semester grades and your continued interest? Good luck!

Yeah at this point, WPI is my top choice. Its in MA, the campus is great, and it seemed like I would fit in well there. Too bad I won’t know until April 1st -_- . The good news is that they are taking my early interest into account when I go up against the RD pool…

If you didn’t get into WPI you won’t get into Case.

If you can’t see yourself at WPI, UMass Amherst or RIT why did you apply?

You need to have the $ talk so we can make recommendations that might work…

He wasn’t denied by WPI, he was deferred to RD. So he still has hope, though I don’t think his odds are great there or at Case. So it is good he is looking for other options…

Exactly. I really applied to the UMass schools seeing as a good amount of my friends will be attending them, also not to mention they both have great engineering programs…

What is your major?
IF it’s in the STEM field, apply to UMBC!
It’s amazing here, and there are so many opportunities here.
I’m also on full scholarship, UMBC is very generous with the aid.

Wise words :)

I’m not sure if you can still apply, but I"d look into Marist College (there is no engineering school per say but there is a college of computer science and mathematics that may work and the school has lots of tie ins with IBM), Clarkson University, Manhattan College, Stevens Institute of Technology, Union (would be another reach school).

And I agree, there is no one “dream” school.
