After we have been admitted, do we need to send off final Grades?

Hey
I applied for 10th Grade, but I am repeating..
Do we still need to send off our final transcripts AGAIN in the 10th Grade?(Even though I am entering 10th)
When we've already sent off our whole 9th Grade transcript.......

I am thinking of attending my current school until March and then doing community service overseas
for the rest of my time (as I will be repeating)
Would this be a bad idea?
All help would be appreciated!!!

I think the schools will need to transfer your transcripts which will have your grades and stuff. Haha ya…I don’t think they would want you to totally bail on school. Im repeating also…I mean I’m not gunna be working hard anymore but I’ll atleast show up lol

Depending on the school you are admitted to - but most schools require a final transcript after the end of the school year. Admission can be rescinded based upon your final grades.

I don’t understand…

Pretty much…bad idea to not finish school.

From the Choate admissions letter:

Your acceptance is, of course, contingent upon the successful completion of the current school year, as we expect you to maintain the high academic and personal standards that you have set for yourself thus far.

I bet all the schools have a similar expectation.

Talk to both schools (current and new school) about the community service thing. And you should send any recent grades at the end of the year.

Will it still make a difference repeating?

I agree with olivia…talk to your school and talk to the school you got accepted to.

All schools will require a final transcript to be sent, this will be an official transcript sent direction from the school after the end of the year.

That does not mean that you cannot change your plans and do community service overseas – what it means is that you need to get permission to do so from the BS you will be attending.

I would start by writing down your plans – what your goals are for your service, what you will do, what you will learn, and how it will impact your current classes (will you get any credits?, will you have to repeat a language level? will you have to repeat math? do you have plans to complete certain subjects – possibly by taking an internet course, self-study, testing/evaluation).

Then call the academic dean of your BS and speak with them about your plan and get their input. If they think the plan has merit, speak with the admissions officer and ask if it will impact your acceptance. Make sure both you and your parents understand the ramifications of this plan – and get any agreements with the BS in writing regarding acceptance, credit transfer, etc.

thanks so much!!

I know you have to send something in but my admissions letter said “as long as you finish the current school year” (or something like that. I don’t think it said anything like “in good standings” etc.
