Agggh, help!sat scores big mess, freaked out!?!?

OK so I signed up for the Dec. 5 SATs on late notice because I didn't sign up for the ones before that. I also signed up for the Nov. 7 SAT subject tests. I'm planning on applying to USC (SoCal) and UCLA.

The thing is, I want to take the SAT more than once because I'm one of those people who is really nervous during a test but isn't as nervous if they're familiar with it. If I do it for a second time I'll probably do significantly better (this is just my reasoning).

But the next test date that I can register for is January 23rd, and USC has a deadline for the application on January 11th.

My only hope is this: I vaguely remember hearing that it's OK to apply without your final SAT scores and to send it in later on, even if it's past the deadline. Is this true?

My question, more clearly, is this: Can I send my SAT scores in after the deadline?

Or will it be too late and will I have to use only my Dec. 5 SAT scores?

Thank you soooooooooo freaking much in advance.

Deva

Why dont you just calm down and email them?

I think most colleges will withhold viewing your application until your January scores come in if you call them and ask.

The schools usually accept Jan scores if they arrive on tme to be considered for admission and I heart that they usually do arrive on time… but you would have to check with each school because some schools don’t accept jan scores AT ALL. For UC’s tho, I heard that dec test is the last test they will be recieving…

One of my senior friends last year went through the exact same thing at the exact same schools. He contacted the admissions office and they both agreed to take his scores after the deadline. In the end, he got accepted at UCLA and rejected at USC.

If you feel the need to take an exam prior to the Dec test (as a practice). Why don’t you get a SAT practice book and do a timed test this next weekend?

^ Sensible suggestion. Many schools even offer full practice tests in a totally realistic environment. You should look into that.
