Agh

I apologize in advance because a) you're probably tired of these and b) I already posted one of these for midyear reports, but I'm a little worried about my final report.

Predicted final grades:

Orchestra - Pass (Pass/fail)
AP physics - 98
AP chem - 95
IBHL English - 94
Phys. Ed - 93, not that it matters
IBSL econ - 92
*IBHL math - 89 (hard class)
*IBSL French - 75 (combination of laziness and sucking at French)

How much will mid 70s in French hurt me? Also, will the sub-90 in math hurt me since I'm in engineering? Have people gotten away with grades like these? Any advice/words of comfort would be muchly appreciated.

You're a senior, right?

The worst thing you might have to do is explain to them why you got a C in French -- even then, I sincerely doubt they'd bother to put you on academic probation.

If it makes you feel any better, my average dropped 4 points from second quarter to third and my guidance counselor told me not to worry about it.

Yeah, I'm a senior.

yeah, my average is steadily declining, but don't worry--i mean, we all got in, right? what's the worst they can do?

You're fine, you've got nothing to worry about.
The only case I've ever heard of someone getting a warning from Cornell was when a guy in the grade above me in high school who was a senior planning on going to Cornell failed his calc final. Cornell sent him a warning letter. That's it. If you get a C in French they really won't care.
