AGHH i got six 4's. should i submit AP scores?

I'm sooo mad. I got all 4's, should i submit to harvard yale princeton? God I hate AP's i'm pretty sure I was like a point away.

Yes... I don't think those colleges will kill you for getting 4s. Just submit your scores.

Um a 4 is NOT a bad score.

AP scores are accorded very little weight in admissions. They are used for placement/credit, if at all, when you decide to attend a particular school.

You don't "submit" AP scores during the application process. You self-report them on your application, and submit them only to the school you're going to.

yes its fine

I know 4's aren't bad. It's just frustrating when you're so close to a 5 but just can't break the barrier in ANY of the tests.

It's fine. 4 is a perfectly respectable score. I submitted two 4s (of 6 tests) on all my applications, and I was accepted to Columbia

Also, by submitting it, you show that you not only took AP classes but the exams as well. I don't think admissions offices like to see much that you took a class but not the test, it may make them suspect grade inflation

Colleges don't care at ALL about AP scores..

Like schmivy said, you should submit it because if you don't, they may suspect you're hiding something like 2s or 1s... and think that your grades are inflated.

I looked at the Stanford admissions thread, and the people who had been admitted had some fours. Most had some fives mixed in though. But AP scores do not affect admissions by that much at all! :)

Colleges want you to not pass AP tests, or submit AP scores. They don't want to give you credit. They want to make money off you, so the fewer credits they give the more $$$ they get.

Haha, I hope I don't get anymore 4's like you... I got three 4's so far and I thought that was strange, but six 4's? haha A 4 is definitely not a bad score, send them!

That is what i am worried about also. I am a sophmore who just got her second set of Ap results. 2 4's, which combines with freshman year's 2 4's. Ugh. I know it's a decent score but it still bugs me.

I signed up for five AP classes next year, I gotta break the barrier for at least one next year. Hopefully all.

Good job to all of you for taking so many rigorous tests, but really I think you're being too hard on yourself with the 4s. For math/science, NEARLY all schools will accept a 4+, state schools and most private schools will accept 3+ for some. The extremely selective schools like MIT might only accept a 5, or will accept none at all.

As far as humanities go, you usually need to get a 4+, while some like Art History might require a 5.

It depends on the school, but a good rule of thumb is that the less selective the school is, the lower the AP scores it will grant credit for.

But almost all AP exams, at almost all colleges, will get full credit for a 4.

A 4 is a pretty good score.

I think this is a troll. Lol 4 is a great score!!!!!

Maybe, but who knows? Some people on here are actually like that and would be upset with a 4.

There is a place for reporting AP scores on the Harvard Supplement to the Common Application. There is also a place for reporting AP scores on the Caltech supplement, so there are college application committees that appear to be interested in self-reported AP scores. Six scores of 4 is not too bad, and well worth reporting. How impressive that set of scores will be depends on which colleges to which it is submitted.

Many college ask for the scores on the apps., but you can omit any you don't feel comfortable disclosing. That can seem suspicious, though.
