Wash U is my dream school, my number one pick by far.

who do i contact, how do i contact them (phone, email, snail mail...which is best), and what tone should i take (formal, appreciative, personal, etc?)

2.what things should i send to supplemenet my app?
is there a line drawn somewhere where certain things will seem pushy?

should i talk to them about my visit, what i liked , why i love their school, etc?

Anythings i should be sure NOT to do?

im also applying for a specific program to enroll in med school after undergrad, i hope that will show dedication to wash u

If they deferred you, the obvious answer is they want to see your mid year grades.

You’ve told us nothing about your qualifications so I really can’t comment beyond that. What are your safety schools?

Hey I got deferred too. It hurts doesn’t it. The burn still doesn’t go away. But, I can help. I talked to a counselor and called the admissions office. They all recommended writing a “letter of intent” to your regional admissions officer, who you can find by calling the admissions office. The letter of intent should probably be formal, but a little personal. Tell about your intent to attend wash u if you should be admitted and your disappointment at your deferral, and ask if there is anything else you should send other than your seventh semester transcript. Personally, I’m sending one more rec that will hopefully put me over the edge. I really don’t think they want anymore essays. it’s really a time to see your grades and any new test scores you have.
Hope this helps you. Merry Christmas.

You can pm me if you need more help. I’d love to. (Procrastinating on my other apps)

Good Luck!

So I contacted my admission counselor and told her that WashU is still my top choice and how I am a bit disappointed in myself for not being strong enough to get in. She basically replied in a generic way: “Thanks for your interest. We understand that you’re disappointed. The pool was strong this year.” She didn’t tell me what she’s intending on doing.

HOWEVER, when I e-mailed my processor and told her that I wish to update my folder with new materials and as well as that I’m still interested, she told me that she’s going to note my intentions.

Ultimately, this makes me feel a little bit ehhh…considering that my admission counselor gave me the ‘okay, thanks for letting me know. I’m implying that I’m not going to do anything about it.’ That might be a little overboard, but that was the feeling I got in my e-mail. My processor actually stated that she’s going to note my actions and updates.

So…I should continue to keep in contact with my admission counselor but at the same time, with my processor? :S

Btw, I have the STL lady as my admission counselor…Laura Fogarty
