okay, so I applied ED I and got deferred. my stats are pretty good and I have been in constant contact with with jeremy raphael (director of admissions at wustl). From reading these posts I found that WashU has an Early decision II round, which I didn't know about. is it true that they have this? and if so, would I be allowed to apply ED II if i was deferred from ED I. I refuse to give up on this school because i know that it really is the only place for me. any help or advice would be so appreciated!

No, not allowed to apply EDII as well. Sorry :(

I'm in the same boat.

ah sorry to hear your in the same boat as i am. i had everything planned out because im pretty much college obsessive and i've been looking since the beginning of junior year. of course i fell in love with wash u immediately as my first choice and my second choice is probably emory. so naturally i was gonna do wash u ED I and emory ED II. i think i have a pretty good chance of getting into emory, but the more i think about it the more i feel like it might just be worth waiting it out till regular admissions. i have a friend whose sister went to wash u and was in the same situation as us. she got deferred early decision I but then was admitted regular and she said shed talk to the admissions committee on my behalf cause she has good relations with them. but im still so nervous cause i just dont know what i want to do anymore. if i got into emory ed II im sure id be happy there but i would always be left wondering if i should have waited it out till regular admissions to hear from wash u. ughhhh this sucks big time!!!

You will happier at Wash U. Why not try RD, and contact them quickly and tell them how much you WANT to go there. If you have someone willing to talk to the admissions folks, by all means use that person to help you out!!!! This school rocks...according to my sophomore son!!!
