Ok, I'm a junior, and I'm about to take the ACT for the first time in February. Well, I decided to send my scores to...Wash U, MIT, CalTech, and Cornell (I think). Was this dumb? I am pretty sure that I will most definitely do better the second time...so why should I send these?? Should I call ACT and cancel them? Will it hurt my chances if they see me sending my scores? Will I look dumb?

The same goes for the SAT which I still have to register for for March...should I just no report scores or what?? Agh...

I guess my question is, does it hurt to report scores?

Kevin, you DONT send scores anywhere as a junior. It's not necessary, and you also know you're gonna most likely suck as a junior. That said, it probably won't hurt as long as you eventually send better scores. I would say that if it's free to cancel scores, then cancel them, but if it's too much of a hassle, don't freak out about it.

You have untill either the wednesday or thursday after you take the test to cancel having your scored sent to the schools you listed. The benefit of listing them an your application is that it is free. You will have to pay to send them after but you have the opportunity to see your scores and decide if you want to send them. I would say wait as it is the first time you are taking it.

Ok, thanks guys! I think I will go ahead and just call ACT to cancel my first scores...I don't want to look dumb lol
