Should a sophomore send ACT scores to colleges?

Hi all, (sorry - I’m not sure if this is where I should be putting this discussion or not)
I recently took the ACT on Saturday and saw when I was registering for the test the option of sending scores to colleges for free. I ignored this option thinking that that was geared to seniors who had already applied (I’m currently a sophomore). However, today I received an email from ACT reminding me to take advantage of sending my scores to colleges for free and that made me rethink. Should I send them to the colleges that I plan on applying to? My last chance to send them is Thursday so an advice would be really helpful! Thanks!

Neither of my kids chose this option because they wanted to see the scores first. Many schools permit you to choose which scores to send but if you scored poorly and already sent them, there is no way to claw them back.

@Aurora23 Best to not send yet. Yes, you can save $48 by sending 4 free scores now, but as @suzy100 said, they might not be as good as you were hoping. You can always send them in the future for $12 each school.

Yes, wait another year when they should be higher. There’s just no point in sending now.

Okay, thank you all very much! @suzy100 @vonlost @STEM2017
