Well, did you receive an A in the class? Then there would be a problem

There’s no real reason to cancel the score, besides to get the award, which is really not that important. You can simply withhold the score on the Common App (i.e. just don’t put it down). The only way they’d be able to find out about your score is when you send your scores to the college you attend for actual credit, but by then they can’t do anything to you since you’ve already enrolled. It would’ve helped if you had gotten a 4, but it won’t hurt you at all if you know what you’re doing :)

EDIT: Might as well put it on your app. It shows that you attempted something and were ready to take the challenge :S

IMO, just report it. Laguage tests are hard; basically only natives do really well on them. Colleges will see that you took the challenge, and granted you didn’t do awesome, but you still took the challenge. Either way you go, I don’t think it will be too big of a deal if you cancel it or not.

“Well, did you receive an A in the class? Then there would be a problem”

I did get an A in the class. The teacher was basically native (she wasn’t, just really good in everyway) but could not teach if her life depended on it. I’m not blaming her of course, but why is that a problem?

Grades are more important than AP scores in the college app process. If you hadn’t done well in the class and the test, then you would’ve had a bigger problem on your hands.

What was the lowest score you guys have ever gotten? (If you say 5, we’re all happy for you, but don’t post. LOL)

You should probably just quit life.

lowest a-peee score ever= 3

How badly do you think this will hurt me?

When colleges see a very high academic grade combine with a low AP score, they usually think grade inflation is rampant.

Languages are the hardest cause you NEED practice in them

“What was the lowest score you guys have ever gotten? (If you say 5, we’re all happy for you, but don’t post. LOL)”

What are you trying to prove? Are you trying to make yourself feel better? Are you trying to justify your bad grade? We’re handing you suggestions and you’re just tossing them out. At this point, this is becoming more of a pityfest. I’m sorry you didn’t do as well as you had hoped, but sometimes you and everyone else around you screws up. Cancel the damn score and get on with your life.

Every college says that AP test scores aren’t considered in the application process.

They’re probably inevitably glanced at, but when comparing resumes, AP scores aren’t the deciding factor.

It’s more alarming for a student to take a course and then mysteriously not report the AP test score.

Who cares about Spanish? You got a 5 in everything that was important.

That 2 won’t kill you.

^^^what ansan said

Dude, you’re fine. I’m in the same position (5 on AP Chem, AP Calc BC, AP Stats, AP Eng. Lang., and APUSH and a 2 on AP French Lit). I wouldn’t worry about it extensively—you’re still a National AP Scholar as a rising senior (which is pretty amazing) and you could always omit the test when you’re self-reporting. However, French Lit was a self-study for me so I’m in a slightly more advantageous position to omit on college apps. Good luck!

I got a 2 on APUSH last year… I just accepted it and moved on. I hated history anyway. I guess now I can only work as a McDonald’s employee for the rest of my life! ■■■!
