I only found out about this today, but CC has a link to the "academic index" calculator that some ivies and top schools supposedly use. It ranks how likely you are to get into selective colleges based on very simplified stats. Here's the link: http://www.collegeconfidential.com/cgi-bin/ai.cgi

If I put in my SAT I, SAT IIs, and exact class rank, (top 5%) I'm a five on a scale of 1-9. (9 is best) Instead of class rank, I entered my unweighted GPA (around a 3.85) even though they ask for weighted, and I was a 6. When I put in my weighted GPA (4.4), I was an 8. I realize that my school really weights the GPAs, but how could I be a 5, 6, and an 8?

Any information about if or how the AI is used would be appreciated, but I guess I'm just kind of ranting. But I'm not really upset, just confused. Does anyone else get any weird readings?
