My S has got admission at Johns Hopkins. He has been given some aid for this year, and that along with our savings and earnings should be enough for paying for this year. We could afford paying or taking out loans for a similar amount in the following years. However, there has been no explicit commitment for aid for following years. Without aid in the following years, and with a sibling who will also need to go to college, and deteriorating health on my part, he may not be able to continue. What is the experience of students who join JHU? Is aid renewed for following years following submittal of the FAFSA each year? Any suggestions on experience with JHU?

JHU uses IDOC through College Board which is updated yearly. The aid will be increased/decreased depending on your financial profile. A second child in college at the same time will definitely increase your aid.from JHU

JHU responded and gave us a very favorable response for aid. Though other schools have also given very good aid (upto 80%), it seems my S has liked JHU, so that is where he is going.
