Aid Decisions for an accepted international student

I’m really excited about getting admission to Stanford (I can’t even write words correctly :stuck_out_tongue: )
But I’m really worried about one thing. I need a lot of money for my education. So does Stanford meet 100 of the demonstrated need of any admitted student? and when can I see my financial aid award?
Thanks for responding

Did you finally get to see your financial aid package?

@gravitas2‌ Yes it was 65k/69k. But still I want 67k. Do you think that I can negociate that with them?

Wow…basically you are getting a full financial ride (and you are an INTERNATIONAL)…is the remaining 4k expected contribution from student summer earnings and Stanford part time job? If it is…it will be hard to negotiate that down even further. You may try to negotiate with Stanford once you have a competing financial offer from one of their peer HYPM schools (but I suspect they will all be pretty close if not worse than Stanford’s). Moreover, all 5 of these schools will NOT match any competing offers from schools that provide MERIT full scholarships like Duke’s or USC or some of other schools that attract students this way…

@gravitas2‌ $6800 are left to pay. $2800 are going to be paid from my summer earnings and part time job at Stanford. However, when I submitted my application, I estimated my parents’ contribution to be a $2000 (more than 10% of our net income). I just need $2000.
Will that hurt if I ask them even if they don’t accept?

It won’t hurt to ask…what can you lose? I’m sure you will figure out something.
