<p>I am currently in my first year at a selective, private 4 year university. My family's been barely able to pay this year and, after a talk with the financial aid office, it looks like next year is out of the picture. I'd like to transfer somewhere good, but more willing to offer merit based aid to undergraduates (my school only does need based)... is it more difficult for transfers to get aid? And, if not, which schools should I be looking at?</p>
