Is a score of 6 or 7 on the AIME considered good for MIT?

Pretty sure a 6/7 will definitely help your MIT app.

I scored a 6 on the AIME today BUT
i forgot to bubble in the zeros for 2/1 digit answers.

Is the zero-bubbling absolutely required (the instructions said “should”)?

If so, then i got a 4 =( which makes me kinda sad.

haha you took it today too? Yeah zero bubbling is required sorry. And yeah its pretty good… although im hoping for a 9. Do you guys know if we are allowed to discuss?

I looked for discussion threads and couldnt find many. I assume that’s because compared to other tests, the amount of people who take the AIME is much smaller.

I did compare my answers to other people at my school though, so that’s why i’m fairly sure about my score (which is unfortunately a 4 xD- shoulda paid attention to the directions).

Easier or harder than last year ?

Much harder

Last year I got a 8 without much effort… this year ahhh im not sure… it was hard. Oh yeah I’ve got a question I’m pretty young so I don’t really understand what AMC and AIME scores MIT asks for. Are they your AMC 10 or 12 and your highest AIME score or most recent?

I’m fairly certain I got a 10. But yeah, I thought it was maybe 1-2 questions harder than last year…

@collegesyndrome Yeah, you should’ve bubbled leading zeros. I believe there was someone who, a few years ago, missed USAMO qualification because he didn’t bubble in leading zeros.

@PR1123 yes, definitely list it on your MIT app, it can’t hurt. In fact, quite a few people here at MIT have never heard of the AIME, let alone taken it.
