I'm only going to be a Junior in High School so I obviously can't say much about college admissions, but your stats are really quite impressive.

you have a great chance

You are on track, that is for sure. If you can get any flashy awards, or make any of your ECs look flashier, all to the good. If not, just maintain and you have a good chance.

Your New England location means you are competing against a deep pool of talent. You are average to a little better in that pool. HYP will be a reach, but some of the others will be near matches.

bump. appreciate the input.

Don't focuse exclusively on HYPS. I would focus on the rest of the Ivies plus northwestern, the top LACs etc.

Have you thought about finances? Are you able to afford top private schools, or are you eligible for aid? If not- you need to expand your strategy. ED sounds like a good idea for you, provided there is no financial problem. Since you are well qualified for these schools, your ED chances should be good.

PSAT: 214, National Merit Semifinalist

how do you know ur a semifinalist already?

they haven't sent out the letters....

I think they posted Semi-Finalist cutoffs for each state up somewhere.

I just received news of semifinalist status (I live in NJ) this morning.

See the parent's thread for applicant who was a finalst waitlisted at Northwestern and Chicago on up, going to u Minnisota.

Really great app, honestly, but I’m just wondering how you managed to become the captain of the math team as a freshman and the pres. of FBLA as the sophomore. And how did a 214 get NMS? Do you live in Wyoming!!! … just kidding, but seriously: You definitely have a great shot (though NOTHING is ever a guarantee).

youl most likely go anywhere you want with 800 sat i and 800 math 2

Haha wow, I just realized I posted on a thread that’s over 3 and a half years old. :)

^^ Hey, but at least you know he got into Yale…
