So what do you guys think is the better option:
1. Full ride to Alabama+$2000 stipend for research and/or study abroad+$1,000/year national merit scholarship+Ipad.
2. More prestigious college such as WashU, Vandy, or Emory and probably having to pay at least some money, but not exceeding $20,000/year.
3. A very good state universe like UNC chapel hill, where I would probably have to pay at least a little.
The fact is, I know I would enjoy a place like WashU more because, having visited, I was enthralled with its campus and its general air of intellectualism, which, call me jaded, I appreciate. However, all that money at Alabama is really nice; I just don't know how much I would truly enjoy Alabama, even as a University Fellow and in the Honors College.
I do have limited funds, which is why Washu/Vandy/Emory wouldn't even be an option if I have to pay more than $20,000/year. And, anyway, I don't even know whether I will be accepted everywhere. I just want to have a good idea before the admissions decisions come out.
So what do you guys think?

which school has the best program for the major you are interested in? do you need to preserve monies for grad school or med school etc.?

no guarantee you will get university fellows at UA…very selective.

Well, WashU definitely has the best program for the many things I’m interested in (I’m largely undecided, but am mostly into the social sciences).
No, my parents will pay a certain amount for undergrad, but I’m on my own after that.
That’s true, but given the hypothetical that I do get accepted as a University Fellow, I’m still not sure I would enjoy it quite as much.
