ALEKS Test

I want to do the aleks test for the calculus readiness requirement for freshman applying for the fall of 2014. This is my first time, so can someone give me instructions on how to do it (which website, how much does it cost) and if it's hard to get an 80. What's on it? Is there a certain test (math only or another test)?

Totally lost, please help!

Aleks is a brease, I got 100% in the course. I had to take Aleks as a algebra class, not quite sure of your situation.
It costs under 100 dollars, I payed 75 bux I believe. Its like an online deal (clearly) where every answer you give is for the most part either right or wrong. again, dont know your deal, but I had 5 tests and a final exam. every test has a practice test that covers the same problem as in the test (obviously the question is not identical, but simular). tests have 15 questing, exam has 30.
You may do the practice test as many times as you wish, (I recommend doing the practice exams at lesst 7-10 times, or at least till you can consistently get 100% on the practice tests).
I found Aleks extremely helpful, though it is the most failed course at my collage (I go to TAMUK… lol). It really just boils down to weather you put in the work or not.
I believe Aleks is just math BTW.
Its a very thorough algebra course… something I believe would be useful to re-purchase and go through a second time when studying for the GRE.
Best of luck!

BTW, I would be happy to answer any more questions!
cheers!!

What are you doing here if you go to TAMUK?

Don’t confuse OP anymore, please.

ALEKS is not required for admission.
It is required as a placement test for math classes FOR ALREADY ADMITTED STUDENTS in CNS, Engineering and Business.

Test results are valid only for 1 semester, so for Fall 2014 ALEKS has to be taken during late spring- summer 2014, for Spring 2015 during fall 2014/over Christmas break etc

CNS asks ADMITTED FRESHMEN to take test prior orientation strictly for placement purposes, but in reality you have til late August to take it and improve the score.

And the price is $10 or $50.

YaYa

I had to take Aleks Algebra my freshmen year, so I do know a lot about it. ex, format, test layout, marking scheme, etc.

I have never claimed it Was required for admission, but rather when i took Aleks it was a semester long class.

I am not providing the end all be all of answers to CHRIS4IAN question, as i stated that i was not sure about the Aleks Requirement for clac.

Can I take it for admissions, I mean it says it on the website…

There is no ALEKS Algebra at UT Austin.

ALEKS at UT Austin is mostly a Calculus placement test, it is also used for several Statistics and one Computer Science Class.
See the link above.

For admission they are going to look at your SAT/ ACT score.
