ALEKS test

What do I need to study? I have to take it by next Tuesday and I have no idea what's on it. Thank you!

What exactly is the ALEKS test? How is it different from the Math SAT Subject? Is it only for Natural Science kids? If I want to take Calc I in the fall do I need to take this too?

I had already taken the Math SAT Subject test junior year but apparently they aren’t using it anymore. You must take the ALEKS no matter what. No, it’s not just for NS but for just about all departments now. Yes, you have to take it to get into Calc in the fall. There is also an ALEKS Chemistry test as well.

Okay thank you.

The ALEKS is basically logarithms, exponentials, geometry, and trig. there are also some perimeter questions but they are simple. The good thing about the ALEKS math test is that you can take is as many times as you want and if you do not get your desired score you can complete the learning modules and increase your score. The questions are repetitive so you can learn the format and you are set for the test

if i scored an 85 on the placement test, do i have to take differential and integral calculus that i qualified for, or can i just take differential calculus?

I called and asked about this. You can take which ever calculus you want so yes you can take just the differential calculus.

If I am a physics major should i be taking differential and integral calculus? Or just differential calculus?

i was on myedu researching calculus classes, why is it that diff&integral cal has a less workload and higher grades than differential cal does? i thought integral was supposed to be more challenging/harder;etc

What happens if you don’t take it by the date they tell you to take it by?

And does taking it multiple times make it harder to get a score needed to take a class?

Is it possible to get a low score on ur ALEKS and using the modules to improve it, you can be allowed to enter into calc courses?

You can take the test as many times as you want until you get the score you need to get into the calc class you want.

shoot is the deadline for this the same for everyone? how could i know what mine is? D:

Deadlines are different depending on when you’re registered for summer orientation. I think it’s ok if you don’t take by the deadline in your email but you must take it before showing up at orientation or they may not let you in.

Ive heard of these from people but dont see it in my after admissions checklist or anything… do i have to take it? is it because i haven’t attended orientation yet?

I already took part 1 of a 3 part calc before transfering could that be why?

If I am a COLA student and signed up for calc for the fall will UT email me info about the ALEKS soon?

If you get credit for m408k through ap do you still have to take the test?
