I know the original post is old, but I thought I would comment since I was a Langsdorf Fellow. The selection process is quite competitive. There are hundreds of applicants, and only 10-12 students are selected for an on campus interview. Then a subset of those interviewed are offered the scholarship - in my year they offered 4. I would encourage everyone applying to engineering to apply for the fellowship, but keep in mind the chances of getting one are pretty slim.
I think the circumstances have changed a little bit from logiflly’s time. I have to attend the scholarship weekend, but I do not have to interview; I am already guaranteed the full tuition scholarship.
