Alfond Scholarship Weekend 2015

Hey guys

Who are all invited/going for the Alfond Scholarship Weekend in late Feb?

cheers

I just received my invite in the mail.

Great. Will you be going?

I still have to decide, most likely yes.

Ill be there! How many people do you think they will be?

Did you receive the invitation with your acceptance letter, or with a separate letter or e-mail?

Well, I’ve registered my attendance on that weekend so see you all who will be there! From last years’ threads, it seems they typically invite around 40-50 students every year.

I received the invitation in a separate email from the acceptance. Haven’t received the physical mail yet so not unsure whether they were bundled together.

I was also invited to the weekend.

Good to know, Cauldroncastle. See you there.

Any one here an international student? I’m coming from India.

Just received my acceptance in the mail, but no invitation with it. Maybe they won’t send one as it has been confirmed by email.

I am an international myself (from Nepal). I received the invitation (along with the acceptance) via FedEx. @anshj97‌ You got the invitation via email? I actually had no clue about my acceptance and the invitation until I received the mail package.

Indeed, I got an email from Rollins that I was accepted, and that a formal invitation in the mail would arrive soon. Interesting to see that you didn’t receive an email.

I received everything in the mail. It came in a packet with information brochures, the scholarship information, and the invitation. Then I had to go online and register. I didn’t even know this scholarship existed! I am super excited but nervous. Has anyone read the excerpts yet?

@Cazoon‌ My situation was exactly the same.

@anshj97‌ Have you started applying for a US Visa and all? Idk how long it takes for all that stuff. Do we need to hurry or is there time to relax?

@cauldroncastle the visa for the competition? I already have a tourist visa so am using that to come. You should apply ASAP- at least here in India, sometimes it takes up to a month to get an appointment (the visa itself takes up to a week in clear cases).

Let me know if you need any help.

My daughter got invited.

Good to know and congrats to her for being invited!

Looks like I won’t be attending. I got accepted to my ED 2 school. So, good luck guys!!

Congrats! Which uni is this?

Great, and good luck to you!
