Alfond Scholarship

Keeping my fingers crossed! I will be anxious to get home and open the mail box tonight!!

oldbull2, did it come with the regular admission packet? just trying to figure out what to look for?

The BIG envelope arrived today! Of course, D is not home to open it. Did the Alfond info arrive on its own or in the acceptance stuff? Thanks

I believe so, big envelope(USPS with the folder in it), with the acceptance and a letter inviting to apply for the scholarship with it.

BIG envelope here too!!! S will not be home until 10:30 after rehearsal. Waiting, waiting!! :-??

BIG envelope opened! Acceptance, $25,000 Dean’s Scholarship, and invitation to Alfond weekend! =D>

Congrats! JRMAMA, see you there.

Thanks oldbull2! Same to you! Have you made your travel arrangements yet? I thought I saw somewhere that the kids would actually be staying at the Alfond Inn but now I can’t find where it said that. Anyway, I am still considering whether I want to spend the money to stay there or somewhere farther away but less expensive. Are you driving in? The reimbursement of the mileage is great.

We live about an hour away, we’ll be driving in. Haven’t looked at prices but if the Alfond Inn is close, Winter Park is a great area to get out and walk/shop.

D received the Dean’s Scholarship but no invite to Alfond. Kinda disappointed. She has several other offers which bring the cost down below Rollins. We really like Rollins but not sure it’s worth the extra money?!?

Still very proud of her and thankful to the folks at Rollins for the generous offer.

My son will be attending the Alfond weekend this year. For those that attended last year, how many students were there for it?Any suggestions or details would be appreciated. Thanks!
