Algebra 1 transfer

hi, I’m a freshmen in highschool. I just moved from New York to texas over the summer. My math class is algebra 1 as it was supposed to be in New York. However, this class is WAY too easy for me and i was thinking of moving up to geometry because there is no algerbra honors. I know that NY is ahead of TX education wise, especially considering how I already learned everything in that class in 8th grade. I also double-check the teachers syllabus and now I know that i already learned everything after looking at the topics to be learned in that class. However, the problem is that my school will not let me move out. My only option is to stay in that class until December, take a placement test, get the results back in March, but by then i would’ve already miss half of the geometry semester, only get half the credit, and I would be very behind. But I know that I definitely will not be forced to underachieve in my algebra class. What should I do??

Is there any way you can attend Geometry Class and Algebra?
Could you self study geometry?
Could you “shadow” the class…talk to the Geometry teacher and read the chapters and do the homework as you go along?
