Algebra 2 on FLVS ?

I was planning on taking it during the summer , has anybody took it ?

I have (well I did NJVS, but it’s the same company, course, and HW). do you have any specific questions about it?

I just wanted to know was is difficult at all ?

I actually found it really easy. it’s very simple. if you want to do the honors, it’s a bit more work. make sure you tell your school before hand if you want to do honors, so they can tell FLVS.

let me know if you want me to tell you anything else…

I took it on FLVS. Easy A, but it gave me a bad foundation for pre-calc.

@StressedOutt How long did it take you ?

I took it over the summer. I don’t remember exactly how many weeks it was… they say that you need 120 hours to pass, although they don’t count the hours anyways. they just want you to finish the work and take the final exam (which is online, IF your school allows it; some schools make their students take the exam at a specific location).

I just signed up for the course. I really wanna do this to get ahead but I’m worried it won’t teach me all the necessary things for higher level math. For those of you that have taken it, how did it affect you in your future math classes? Did it teach you everything you needed to know?

Take it, and don’t drop out. They said it takes 32-36 weeks for both segments but guess what? I knocked it out in 4 weeks. If it weren’t for DBA’s and the fact you have to remain in the class for 2 weeks each segment before moving on, I would have given it 2 and a half. I was there for grade forgiveness so maybe that’s why. Already knew all the material.
It actually did teach me everything. Pre-Calclus touched based on what was mentioned in Algebra 2 (limits, geometric series, exponential functions, logarithmic functions, etc). To sum it up, if you want those two free A’s and the ability to earn 1 credit of math in less then a month, take it. If you can’t really understand math online, take it in a class. You’ll still be well prepared for higher level math if you take it on FLVS. Best of luck to you!

*This was Honors by the way

@Mosters , wow! If it took you basically a month how many assignments did you do a day?

I did almost 6-8 assignments a day. The quizzes were ridiculously easy, as well as the written assignements. Again, maybe it was because I already knew everything but they’re a joke. How I wound up with a C freshman year, I dont know!

My guidance counselor say it to hard for you and your really want to take it?
“they say that you not going to done it in the summer”

Took it last summer w/ Penn Foster High School. It was quite honestly a joke, and a waste of $249. I got a 99 but I had to attend a free class and do a lot a self studying on my own in order to pass my high school competency exam. The 99 is on my transcript and I’m in Trig/PreCalc now, so it’s all good B-)
