All about GPA, school statistics, etc

Hi,

I am currently an undergraduate student from a quite good university in US who will be graduated next year. I am planning to apply for grad school (Master program) after graduating from my undergrad. Now, I have some questions before deciding which school that I want to apply.

  1. Is the GPA really important for grad school especially for engineering major?
  2. Is GRE equally important as GPA?
  3. What is the consideration of a good GPA(3.5 is it good or bad) to get into a good school?
  4. What is the most important thing to make our application for grad school to be competitive?
  5. Is it easy to get into PHD program or Master which can go to PHD or only master degree?
  6. is anyone has a statistics of students admitted into a good grad school with their average GPA?
  7. Applying for a less competitive major will give higher chance than applying to a competitive major right?
  8. Is the research experience is important to apply for master?
  9. Is your undergrad school important to get into a good grad school?

I hope someone can help me. Thank you.

There are many threads on this forum which will answer your questions. You should start by reading the [Graduate school admissions 101](Graduate school admissions 101 - Graduate School - College Confidential Forums) thread and then ask about the questions that are still unanswered. My guess is that most of your questions will be answered there.
