I am applying as a freshman for the class of 2020 and am outside top 8% therefor non auto admit. I was wondering if only the highest test score is considered regardless of the date the test was taken. My situation is I took the ACT in June 2015 and scored a 29 (31,27,32,25), which is decent for LA; however, in the fall I took the act twice and scored a few composite points below my first score on both instances (I was focusing very hard on my classes and volunteer work and stupidly did not prepare at all). I was not planning on sending either of these scores but when I checked the document upload after applying the two lower scores (along with my first) had been received, so I must have opted to auto send them during registration and forgot about it. In December I got a 1910 on the SAT and sent that score, although it is still below a 29. So I’m basically wondering if adcoms give students the benefit of the doubt and look at their highest test scores and use those for admission, or is it likely they’ll base their judgement on the fact I received two low scores later on and maybe assume the first one was luck or something. I was ironically pretty relaxed when I took my first test so I feel that was the biggest influence on my result, since the second and third I was very anxious (typically take medication for General Anxiety but obviously not practical for testing) so it was harder to worked efficiently.
I’m sorry if this is too wordy, but any input on this would be greatly appreciated!
Don’t worry, they’ll use the score that gives you the best AI index. You should also complete the recommended sections like the expanded resume, optional essay, and recommendations to get the max PAI score.
