All ACT scores including that from 6th grade?

Yale requires results from all of the SAT I and SAT II tests or all of the ACT tests you have taken.

Some middle school students in the Midwest took ACT for academic talent search purpose. Does Yale want those scores as well?

This is a good question. DD2 is one of these kids. I can’t imagine how middle school scores would be valuable - especially since these kids aren’t even encouraged to take the writing portion of the ACT until they “take it for real” - Jr. yr of HS.

DD2 took it last year and just last weekend (Fr & So yr). My instinct would be to send these and her Jr yr score (with writing section), but not the 3 earlier scores. First, they are really old, and second they were taken out-of-grade, and through a GT program.

Send scores only from those tests taken in high school. 9th grade scores can be sent optionally. This applies to both the SAT and the ACT.

That’s incorrect for ACT. Thus, I read that you should send them to Yale.

Lol no one sends those scores even if the school doesn’t honor score choice.

OK. I guess Yale doesn’t mean to count Talent Search’s use of ACT as ACT. Few, if any, 9th graders did that anyway.

I included my scores from 7th grade on the supplement. I doubt it really makes a difference.

The MATS people are quite clear when pre-high school aged testers take the tests that the scores are not to be included on eventual college applications. Moreover Yale does not want to see junior high ACT and SAT scores. They need not be sent.

This may not be much help, but I remember reading somewhere that they don’t need these scores. I took the ACT in 7th grade through the Duke TIP program, and I didn’t bother submitting my scores.

I actually did pretty well on it, for guessing through the entire math portion. I doubt it matters either way, though. If you submit them they will likely disregard the scores anyway.
