Budget Cuts Force CSU to Close 2010 Spring Admissions | CSU | Public Affairs

Wow. I can't believe it. So what happened to all the hard work I did to transfer to Sacramento State University in Spring '10? Seriously though, I completed all but one of my lower division GE and Engineering transfer requirements as fast as I could while maintaining a 3.75 GPA so I could transfer in the Spring. Then I get the news that CSUs will not be accepting any applications for that semester. I honestly don't know what to do now.

Sorry to hear about the admissions closing. You can still apply for Fall '10 transfer. If you can transfer more cc classes, stay there for spring '10. Otherwise, work during spring and summer. It make take you an extra semester, but you’ll work it out.

You are not alone my friend… I too rushed to finish all the classes I needed to transfer to Cal Poly Pomona or UC Irvine for Winter/Spring 2010 and for what? Nothing! Now I have to sit around for more than a year and wait for Fall… So stupid…

I feel ya man. I pray that something does come up before August 1 (the starting day we were supposed to apply for spring). In my opinion, this will only hurt the budget more than it will help. They should at least let upper division transfer students be able to apply; those who worked A LOT before transferring. Education should never be halted at any cost. Never.

I did the same thing. I’m taking Calculus, and two other classes right now for summer, and got a counselor to approve a petition to overload in courses for Fall so that I could finish IGETC/Pre-reqs and transfer in Winter/Spring 2010. ::sigh::

wow am i glad I decided to get out of my cc instead of going one more semester
