I was in all honors classes for my freshman and sophmore year, but unfortunately I didn't fully apply myself and ended up with B+'s in most of them, leaving me with a 4.0 weighted GPA (on a 5.0 scale, not sure what that is unweighted).

I'm taking all APs for my junior year. Realistically, if I work very hard and get A's in all of them, will I still be able to boost my GPA enough to be a viable candidate for Brown or Columbia, or has my fresh/soph transcript damaged my chances?

I'm in the same boat as you.
I took the most rigorous courses available to me Freshman and Sophomore year, and my unweighted GPA is like an 89. Which is a 94 Weighted.

I too am taking all AP's and Honors, and my goal is to have an unweighted GPA of a 95. I mean if I got an 89 UW GPA by studying the period before a test, doing homework during lunch before a class or on the bus then I think I have a good chance at a 95 if I actually apply myself and don't procrastinate.

For Brown, it's not all about GPA you know :).

You should get those grades up and if you're passionate about something, then that'll definitely compensate for it.
