GPA Question

I know GPA is not every, but I am quite concerned. I am a sophmore, very interested in Brown (YES I KNOW IM ONLY A SOPHMORE). The problem is that for my freshman FIRST TERM I had a D, 3 C’s, and a B. This was when I had the whole wrong attitude and when I did not care about college. Well, lucklily I picked up quick and I fininsh the second term of freshman year with around a 95uw average. My first term of 10th grade was around 94. If I consistantly continue to take AP classes (I am taking AP Bio and AP World History) and recieve 96/97.??uw averages, and my cumulative GPA is around 92+uw to 93+uw, where do I stand. My weighted average will definately be 96+ to 97+ and I will most likely rank in the top ten people of 450 or probably top five people. Did I f**** up my chances, even if my SATI, SATIIs, and ECs are nice ? How does Brown see this and how forgiving are they for a first-term scew up (BAD ONE)? Thanks guys

Most colleges don't really take freshman grades very seriously. Some, including Princeton, don't look at them at all. Upward trends are good, and if you're taking APs and doing well in them, I'd say your chances are not f-ed up at all.

Thanks.. nice to hear

Anybody else know about my situation?

what rabo said, b/c as she pointed out freshmen year isnt very important and you already showed a great upwards trend

just keep it up :)

I had a bad sophomore year, I took 6 honor classes (including spanish 3 and 4 honors the same year) and 4 college classes. I made A's in my college classes but in my honors classes I made a C and some B's and some A's Around a 3.4 GPA.
Freshmen year was around 3.65 and this year (11th grade) I should end up with a 3.85 (1 college class and 1 AP, some honors, and a elective)

Did I end my chances with that 10th grade GPA. Princeton won't look at 9th grade so I have just the 3.4 and 3.85 averaged together. Would they see that I probably had one of the hardest schedules in 10th grade and understand. Is 11th grade the most important so the 3.85 would make up for it?

Thanks guys

Anybody else???
