I'm trying to find an internship but it seems that most accounting internships are geared towards upperclassmen or people who've take X number of credits. I'm a freshmen and want to at least try to find an internship.

If all the corporate internships are reserved for upperclassmen, what do underclassmen usually do? Non-profits? Small businesses?

Help!

Check NASA, they have an internships for contracting (business / procurement) for undergrad that has completed 1 year post high-school education. They may have others as well …I did see Administration / Human Resources but I think that’s a whole different area. These actually may be co-ops where you sign up for 3 semesters but read through the info…not just for the space nerds!

Looks interesting, never thought to look at NASA. Thanks!

Go to your career center. See if ernst and young will be visiting campus soon. They often have a campus contact person for your university. They offer the emerging leaders program for UG students majoring in accounting. This is a 3day intro to the company that you can participate in after sophomore year. Many of the participants are interviewed for the 2 month junior summer paid internships from this program.
Other big 4 companies might have something similar. Again your career center should be able to help you discover some of these excellent opportunities.
