All nighter

I have to pull an all nighter (maybe) tonight. Do most of you go to school the next day? It is the first day back from break, so I hope there isn't a lot of work in school tomorrow. Here is my schedule:

Calc 4 (diff eq): Missing a day really hurts here, but the teacher is the biggest math teacher at our school and likes me since I have consistently ranked high in my state on a number of competitions

AP Chem: Missing a day really hurts here too, but this is my favorite teacher and he likes me too so he will be kind and helpful as far as makeup work goes.

APUSH: This teacher doesn't really like me, but we do nothing in this class usually, and so missing probably won't hurt (I hope)

AP Lang: We are in the library researching for our research papers so I probably won't miss THAT much.

Spanish 3: We are learning subjunctive, a pretty hard topic, so missing a day is painful also but I can probably make it up

AP Phys: Do nothing in this class at all

SO I could survive if I miss a day, but I really really hate to miss days, especially since I have to miss Thursday cuz of the ISEF affiliated fair (for which I must write the paper tonight) and cuz I have already missed so many days for a variety of reasons. What would you guys do in this situation?

i'm indian. even if all hell breaks loose and the sky starts falling I don't miss school. Don't miss school even if u havta pull an all nighter. But that's just my advice.

I must also take into consideration the fact that I am currently quite sick with a cold and have a nasty cough, which MUST be gone by Thursday when I present by 5 or 6 months worth of work at the science fair. This is my first real shot at ISEF, so I need to be well by then. Not sleeping for so long may hurt my recovery...Anyone else thougH?

Yeah I agree with wrathofgod. If I miss 1 day of school, I get so behind, it's crazy. Don't miss a day of school if you don't have to. I'm pulling an all-nighter tonight too. I can't believe you guys don't do anything in apush..that class is seriously a "college-level" class for us. Insane amts of work.

No no we have about 5-7 hours of work per week, but it is all busy work and there is 0 instruction. I learn everything very temporarily just to finish the packets he gives us every week and write the 5 essays. Everything in that class is graded upon quantity, so if someone writes a 2 page, tiny handwriting, essay on star wars to answer something about industrialization, they will get a higher grade than a 1 page essay with lots of substance.

Anybody else???

NEVER EVER MISS A SINGLE DAY ESPECIALLY IF U HAVE AP's. One time, in P.E, we were playign soccer and someone tripped me and i thought i broke my leg. (P.E is my first period). So i go to the hospital, find out its only a sprain. So, i go to class the next day...boy was der a lot of work...and test....in all 4 Ap classes i took.

lol wow you are pretty hardcore....

Yes I suppose so. It is the day right after break though....

i never miss a day, and for me, it wouldn't kill me. I just never feel right skipping when i could go. But last year, I had broken out in hives from stress, and there was a chance they would spread to my throat which could be potentially fatal, but i still went to school. the nurse ended up sending me home and i missed 3 tests. that really sucked. i doubt i would've died if i had stayed, but whatever. sure, i might've been really stupid, but that's just how i look at missing school.

It looks like the general consensus of CC is to go....
Like Ck it wouldn't kill me, but I guess I feel a little guilty about missing when I am not deathly ill. Also, it seems a little disrespectful to the teachers who are spending their time to teach me to not go and expect them to reteach all the stuff to me later that I missed (or at least help me understand it)

Looks like we're all pulling all nighters! If you have something extremely important on thursday that rarely happens, I believe you should play it safe and skip today. I mean, You can make up the work, but not the chance/experience.

True dat True dat...I think I will just see how I feel by the time 6:30 rolls around...

it's 6 23 where I live...

its 4:40. I'm in arizona...what about you? Judging from your "location" I thought you were in California....Maybe massachusetts then?

I am pulling an all-nighter right now - mostly because I have difficulty sleeping and I just like reading my history book (as well as doing homework) at odd hours of the night. Currently 4:07am where I am located.

Almost one year ago, I pulled my first all nighter. THis thread brings back bad memories. ahh!!!

I've never done an all nighter....though I've come close enough....slept at 4-5 am for 7:30 classes.....many times...
have always gone to school the next day....mainly because it's crucifixion if my parents find out I was up so late....and because missing school is just..bad...I hate making up work....

Ok so how about this decision:
Should I go to school and perhaps risk valuable time after school at my lab working on my science fair project because I will have to sleep when I get home or sleep during the day and go to the lab in the afternoonish time and work on the project?

And by the way, are all nighters that bad...? I feel pretty okay right now: about the same as I did at 11 or so, except feeling a little hungry. Will it just hit me later? or what?

It will hit you later! You won't be able to focus as much during the day.
