are a) already done with the college process and are all safely smugly enrolled in top 10 schools.

or b) hopelessly behind [as in, need to join CC immediately to motivate. "What are transcripts?" Hello, it's DECEMBER.]

But right now, the former is exploding into HUGE FIREWORKS OMG.

My friend's boyfriend just got into YALE (!!!) EA;

another friend just got into UChicago;

and our valedictorian got into, um, Cornell, I think it was...?

Um. Okay. I'm not jealous-- well yes I am, I'm applying RD to Stanford and I haven't a snowball's chance in, well, a very hot place. So I'm a little jealous but mostly OMG, so happy for my amazing friends (UCHICAGO AND YAAAALE!!!! HOORAY!)

((Background: I decided pretty early in the college process that I wanted a big public university for myself, which will be controversial on CC I know-- but I was happy with that decision. I applied to a million state flagships and I've gotten into my top choice school !! OOS and everything!))

But... someone that I've known for five years just got into YALE. 8% acceptance rate.

Gosh.

No one screams when I tell them where I've been accepted. I mean, really. Is this happening to anyone else? :)
