All pressure is on for the May SAT...

First time taking the SAT:
Math - 520
Reading - 630
Writing - 710

I'm really like.. mad at myself.
I didn't study, didn't go to any review classes, bought all these SAT books and didn't open them. Got to the test center and had to take the test late because I dropped my second I.D... got 4 hours of sleep the night before.

Basically, make a list of every single thing that you're NOT supposed to do for the SAT, and I did it.

My goal is to get a 700 in all three areas for a total of 2100 next time around. 1860 won't cut it for the schools I'm applying to.

If I could make 1800+ without any prep until the night before, do you guys think I could bring my score up to 2100 with some books and a couple hours of studying daily? Yes, a couple hours of studying daily... I'm determined for that 2100, but it's going to be a reach. 240 points of a reach! Especially math, argh... 180 points in Math........!

I'm soo determined now, like this is serious..
anyone else in this position? ;(

It’s very discouraging. I’m not trying to get into a school like MIT, but schools like NYU and USC really only want 600+ minimum in all sections. my math is atrocious by those standards (even though 500 is the definitive average across the country).

I honestly don’t know what to do. When I do practice SAT math questions, the ones I get wrong I go back and look at the explanations and I’m like, “who formulates how to do this whole process in the seconds you have to plan the question???!”

and on top of that I have the ACT to prep for, which I might do better in, as well as 2 AP tests and the Physics SAT in early June. this on top of regents and finals… I’m at a loss of where to fit in this prep to make this all second nature.
