All the angst was worth it (so far)

Hi CC friends,
Several of you helped me so much last year, while my son prepared for graduate school auditions. It was a harrowing year for us. There were set-backs, financial challenges, disappointments and logistical struggles that required more positivity and self-control than I thought any of us in our little family had. I just want you to know that my son loves SFCM, his violin teacher there, the vibe of the city, his housemates (SFCM grad violin students, also, which I thought would be too much, but they've become good friends). Many more challenges lie ahead, of course, but getting a phone call last week that started with this: "I just wanted to thank you and Dad for helping to make this possible. I love it here, and I'm so happy" felt so good. Future scary reality be damned (at least for a while!). Thanks again for all the support and advice you gave me, and for all the support you keep giving parents and students on this forum.

So great to hear! Thanks for letting us know. And I know I speak for everyone when we say it’s been a pleasure to provide whatever help we can.

That is such fantastic news and such a great message for everyone, to go for it and follow that dream! Your son is fortunate to have you- as he apparently knows, even better :)

So wonderful to hear, onekidmama! It’s great to get updates from CC friends and especially when it is such good news. Yes, not too long ago we were all amidst the angst and helping each other through it, and I too am very grateful for that support. Good news here as well–our son has never looked happier, and has nothing but positive things to say about his graduate school experience. We were able to visit him this weekend, and he had a smile on his face every time we saw him. Such a relief when everything ends up working out well!

Really lovely to read this <3
