the plum one, was something like “metaphorically, what were the plums like?” and the answer was “undiscovered scientific truths”…i bet you got that one though, it said it right next to the word plums in the passage.

lol
well thanks for the help…
are u sure its charlatan??? i think ur right but I put oracle… i hope I didn’t lose that point…
charlatan is like a person who tricks ppl…
idk i still think its charlatan
well PeACE OuT!

charlatan tricks people and pretends to be something he’s not. Perfect match for how he described fortune tellers, no? Must’ve been a hard question, must’ve had some clue to distinguish between oracle and charlatan.

I still don’t fully understand why it was wi*l. I didn’t think he was sad about anything in particular. If anything, I thought he was being a bit restrained because he didn’t go on a rampage in the paragraph before the “Very well.”
I assume the answer is wi*l though? (I chose restrained but was iffy about it)

i thought restrained too. but wi****l can mean yearning? And it seemed like he was yearning for scientists to be understood. when i think of restrained, i think… angry but restraining it. he did not have a angry tone anywhere, or imply that he was angry

i’m pretty sure it was restrained. w****** does not fit into it. he wasn’t YEARNING for self distinction b/c he thought it was good that all merged into one.

geez. we need a final vote now lol. restrained or wi*l. ill be angry if it is restrained, i put that at first. im pretty sure it’s wi*l though. let’s get a final say

there was both w****** and nostalgic in the question. w****** is a synonym of nostalgic, so wouldn’t it make sense to cross out both since they mean the same? “restrained” is more like reserved. he wasn’t showing that much emotion; it was very subtle. that’s why i put restrained.

ugh thats what i figured at first. i was like wi****l means to miss or something… right. But i feel that yearning fits because throughout the passage, it seemed like he was yearning for people to understand scientists, etc. But u could be right, restrained just didnt fit in my mind because when i thought of restrained, i thought of hidden anger

i thought of restrained as just fighting back his emotions regarding the subject, not that he’s mad. and he wasn’t yearning for people to understand scientists b/c that really wasn’t one of the main ideas of the passage, not at all. it was basically only how he complains about the impersonal nature of physics yet emphasizes the good parts, like how all work merges into one.

1)Does anybody remember the answer to the sentence completion question that had an answer choice, “sedulous.” The question was talking about squandering money or something.

2) Does anybody remember the sentence completion question with “avuncular”?

3) Is it power of sea or fear of men?

4) In the history passage, what was the answer to the first question that had an answer choice with “using important precedents to solve problems” or something

5) was “expedient” an answer to one of the questions?

i put power of sea at first but then changed it to fear of men. i thought that the passage basically talked about how the sea caused the fear of the men. Oh, i don’t know! many people here say it’s power of the sea, though.

“i thought of restrained as just fighting back his emotions regarding the subject, not that he’s mad. and he wasn’t yearning for people to understand scientists b/c that really wasn’t one of the main ideas of the passage, not at all. it was basically only how he complains about the impersonal nature of physics yet emphasizes the good parts, like how all work merges into one.”

That’s exactly what I thought. I’m like 85% sure it’s restrained.
hope it’s right >_<
