let's share our despair, fear, or confidence here!!!
post which school your applying to and any other stats you like!
let us all stick together till April 1st:)
here is mine

school: SAM FOX School of art and design
major: painting
GPA:3.5-3.9???(UW)
uh im pretty nervous .. my gap this semester is in record low because i have been working on my portfolio like crazy and there is NFFA and scholastic in addition to three aps and retaking my sat and sickness and my SAT score is also in the low range according to their stat.

i think so far everyone in my school who applied wash U ( arts and science) got deffered and with more ppl in RD. my chance is looking pretty dim there...But hey i put my heart and soul in my apps so why not a try? believe in miracles.!

Hello… I’m also RD because I’m not entirely sure where I want to go yet. Don’t know about you, these last few days have been a roller coaster for all my buddies getting deferred, rejected, accepted… I’m not looking forward to twiddling my thumbs for the next few months. But what can you do?
School: Arts and Sciences
All the best to everybody, ED and RD… this year is tough for college admissions. lol I appreciate an RD thread with everyone else talking about early stuff. What do you like best about wash U? Have you visited?

haha assuming you aren’t applying for their scholarships… they only have one main essay and one short answer. You can do it man. Hope you all do well in RD, sooo glad I got that over with in ED.

I can sympathize with the OP…I put my heart and soul into my app and did everything I could to show that WashU was my dream school. I didn’t have stellar stats but I had a stellar drive. And I don’t think they couldn’t ignore that.

Whether you get accepted or not, I would be proud knowing I tried my best. (After of course forgetting all the positives and saying it costs too much, it would be too hard, they wont accept my AP English score because I got a 4, and etc.)

llpitch I’d encourage you to apply if you really want to-- it’s really easy, especially compared to a lot of other schools, minimal supplement work… I’m from Hawaii too! Maui.

i never visited their campus, but i know it’s incredibly beautiful, full of Gothic architecture. what i like abt it is that it’s small, very very good education and a pretty good MFA program. Im not entirely sure what i want to do yet, so i can give up everything to go a art school, so WUSTL seems perfect. ( except the fact that it is super hard to get into) I also considered CMU but i just don’t want to go there…
as for my GPA… i forgot if it’s 3.96 UW or 3.86 UW but my B’s ( 2) are in art, one B in precalc jr year… jr year was really tough
but this semester my grades aren’t that great. BC calc is just so hard. I thought i could take it, but i guess i can’t. and i don’t know, too much stress and anxieties with portfolio and grades and SATs i guess… gosh this semester was rly tough.

RD applicant to School of Engineering! Just visited a month ago and it was the closest I have come to a dream: buildings are gorgeous, campus is well-planned, and it seems like all future construction will be LEED-certified. They just finished the new student center (the “Duck”), which will really centralize a lot of student activities. Also it is right on the quad!

I visited campus last spring and had an interview with a current student. She was awesome, I really loved the feel of the campus and would probably have applied ED, but my parents wanted me to keep my options open in these tough economic times. You know what I mean?

I understand; my parent’s told me the same thing. After hearing what people are saying about WashU on CC, I wish I had applied ED. It’s my first choice, and I feel I have hurt my chances by applying RD.

Yep it probably is, I didn’t even look at the application status link until I completed my commonapp. Once that went through a couple things were crossed off.

I’m applying to the School of Architecture. GPA 3.85-ish, SAT 2240. I really have no idea whether I will be accepted or not. I doubt that I will be able to afford going even if I am, but I’ll see what happens. I visited twice and I really like the campus, (and that it’s closer to my hometown than most of my other choices) it’s high on my list. Just behind CMU…but I really have no chance there. So I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed until April :)
