I am deciding between Furman and Allegheny. Furman would be my first choice. Furman is in in a great climate, and seems to be a better school than Allegheny in terms of selectivity and rankings. However, Furman costs about 40K and I would have to take out student loans. I got a scholarship at Allegheny which means that I would be able to come out of school debt free. So, is it worth the extra money to go to Furman. Is it that much better?

Furman is a fantastic school. great academics and great weather. but if are like me and despise the whole greek scene, I would look into it more, because the greek scene at furman runs the campus.

A couple of questions -

How much debt are you talking about?

What do you want to do/where do you want to live after college?

probably 30-40 thousand dollars. I want to study political science. i dont know where I want to live though. I would like to go to law school.

If you are thinking about law school, then go to the school with less debt. You never know how much debt you'll be taking on with law school. Personally, I don't think Furman is $30-40,000 better than Allegheny (although the weather might be).
