Already in college. Can I restart as a freshman???

Hi!

I really don’t like my major and would like to restart from freshman in biology because I don’t have any science class and can’t transfer. I wonder if it is possible to restart.

Thanks a lot!

You can apply to college but it will be as a transfer student. Your college record will need to be sent. You can choose any major and you will need to start at the beginning. I don’t know what restrictions your current college has on how long you can stay as an undergrad, but if there weren’t any, you could switch your major.

However, IMHO that is not a good idea. I looked at your other threads and you are already a junior at an excellent college, majoring in finance. You say that your parents forced you into this major, and you would rather do biology. Losing time in college to start over is very costly and a waste of your time. In addition, you say your parents would not support you in a different major, so how would you pay for it? Also, some colleges don’t allow students to stay as undergrads indefinitely.

The most cost effective and efficient decision is to graduate with your degree in finance. This doesn’t mean you are stuck in finance forever, but with a college degree, other opportunities may be open to you. Since it seems you will be financing your education, you can work part time while taking biology classes at a nearby college as a post degree student, or you can enroll as a post degree student full time if you have the funds. You may find that biology isn’t what you hoped it was, or you could aim for a health profession and take the prerequisites.

You don’t have to derail your path to a college degree to change your career.
