alternate admission?

i'm not entirely sure what this is? does it help your chances of getting into cornell since you're applying to 2 colleges instead of 1? is this a really good thing to do?

If your primary college does not accept you (i.e. rejects you, not waitlist), your application is then sent off to the alternate college choice. There, that college can accept or reject you.

There have not been very many admits in the alternate colleges. Cornell looks very much at fit, so in most cases it is hard to fit well into two colleges.

I have heard that the primary college only sends it to the secondary if it feels you would fit there. I was one of those unusual admits in that I didn’t get into CALS, but CAS, which was my secondary choice.

ok… i was really only looking at arts and sciences any way, i don’t want to do anything with hotels or agriculture.
