So I finally got college board to let me take the SAT on Wednesday, June 9th (because of ARML), but I have a few questions that I thought someone could answer. Obviously, not too many people are going to be taking it on this date, so do they make a whole new test for just a few people? And if anyone has taken such a test do you know how the curves were? Also can we get our scores online at the same time as the regular SAT takers?

This is a good question (“do they make a whole new test for just a few people?”).

At first, common sense would lead one to assume that yes, of course, a different test is administered for alternate testing dates.

However, it is to each high school’s discretion which day within the week following the original test date to administer the alternate exam. For example, you said you took your alternate test on the Wednesday following the exam. This coming June, my sister is taking a Subject Test on the Tuesday following the original exam date.

I’m sure College Board doesn’t make a new test for every day of the week… but a school can choose as their alternate test date any day of the week following the original test date.

So, does anyone know what the deal is? Is the alternate date test the same as the original (Saturday) test? Maybe it’s the same as the Sunday date test, which only very few people take? Has anyone had experience with this, and knows what is true?
