Alternatives for academics credits?

Hello! Does anyone know any alternatives to earn academic credits other than taking traditional classes? I’m thinking to live with my parents who live in a different state, so I was thinking to take online courses only but then I realized those classes are very boring. As of now, I can think of internship but can’t think of anything else.

What is your goal?

Is it to get a college degree?

What is your current status? Are you a college student?
Can you transfer?

Your alternatives can depend on the university you’re attending. Some things you may be able to do is take the CLEP exams to waive out of certain credits, do national or international student exchanges for credit, do internships, arrange for independent studies with professors you like, etc. But generally speaking, for most (all?) colleges, you’ll need to earn a certain number of credits on their campus in order to get their degree.

Independent studies sound interesting! Thanks for your suggestion!
