Arizona State is an awesome school. It is one of my safety schools and I love everything about it, besides the heat. So do you guy's know of any schools that are similar to ASU, but don't have scorching heat?

UC-Boulder
UCLA/USC (if L.A. isn't too hot for you as well)
Penn State

University of Utah

I plan on applying to USC and UCLA so the weather in la is fine. But also could you pick out some schools that are easy to get into, bc it would be my safety school.

Thanks

UCSD/UCSB/UCSC/UCI/UCD/UCR/UCM(what a mouthful) are all good choices.

sorry, but the UCs are in a different class than ASU. Comparables would be Chico State and San Diego State.

I think that the University of Colorado is your best bet. The town is great, and the views from campus of the mountains are spectacular. And, it's not a bad school.

Thanks for the options, but do any of you know about the University of Oregon.

UO vs. ASU .... Where would you go?

Although both schools are large enough to find people with interests similar to yours, on the whole UO will tend to be more crunchy & granola, being in Eugene. While what I hear about ASU is it's more of a party school, more preppy and sporty. Not to say UO doesn't get behind it's sports teams, there are lots of die-hard Duck fans and of course Nike got it's start with UO track & field. Sorry about the gross generalizations, like I said both are large enough to have all different types of students, but the overall vibe is likely to be different. The weather is moderate here in the Willamette Valley, you just have to be OK with lots of gray and drizzle. Eugene has great bike trails and outdoor activities and gets some good concerts and other cultural offerings.
