Alternatives to tap water

Is it advisable to get a table top water dispenser for the dorms? Do any of the nearby stores sell those 3-5gallon type refill things? Alternative will be to buy bottled water by the gallon and store it in fridge, but that would be such a waste of plastic.

any suggestions?

thanks so much.

Most people I know buy a Brita pitcher. They work well. Freshman year I just bought water bottles.

oh… i thought you can drink from the tap?? damm that means i have to buy water… sucks.

What about the water service? Does anyone have any experience with that? I drink 1-2 gallons of water a day, so is there any way to get clean water in bulk?

Tap water is fine. I just don’t trust Philly tap water or like how it tastes. Some people I know can deal with it, most cant/don’t.

If you need a gallon of water a day get a brita and a gallon jug and refill it with filtered water every night.

BRITA PITCHER. I got one. All of my older friends use them.

(If you can’t be convinced to care about the environment: have more space in your mini fridge, save money in the long run, less shopping… you will never not have water when you need it, etc.)

Philly tap water tastes like crap, but it’s supposed to be completely safe. I bought this thing and it works really well and the water tastes great:
