<p>^^it’s pretty hard to get real accurate data for Stanford or any other school when it comes to “actual” salary or income for many of the individual “majors” since many right out of college will be in graduate schools (medical, law, dental, PhD, etc) making “nothing”…</p>
<p>…in general, those graduating from the undergraduate school in symbolic systems, computer science, or engineering tend to have the highest “starting salaries”…but, you have to keep in mind, many of the others graduating with different liberal arts and sciences degrees will be most likely attending graduate/professional schools instead of going directly into the “job” market…</p>
<p>…so, one must approach the statistics that you have linked with some skepticism when it comes to NON symbolic systems, computer science, or engineering graduates…</p>
<p>…and it is like pulling teeth to get any information about what physicians and lawyers actually make in any of the surveys…but the one area where many actually track the income before and after a degree is in the MBA (business) program…like Forbes does in its annual ratings…</p>
