i dont understand how my friend got an interview on the Columbia campus when the website specifically says it does not offer on-campus interviews. I'm thinking maybe his dad is a doctor there at the hospital (Presbyterian Hospital i believe) near Columbia or his interviewers just wanted it to do it on campus since we only live 30 minutes away from the campus. But he's the only one I know who had one on campus.

children of alumni can get interviewed on campus by request, if they request it early enough in the fall. everyone else (including children of alumni who aren't organized enough to put that together in the fall) is in one giant grab-bag.

heh my friend isn't a legacy and he was called by the people for an interview at columbia.

On the Columbia campus, meaning with an admissions officer? Or just an alumni interview where the interviewer happened to arrange the interview on campus.

i applied SEAS from singapore. but i am in china now.
one alumnus contacted me for an interview. what should i do?

you should do the interview. is this a trick question?

if i ask the alumnus to help me contact the ARC to reassign another interview in China, and he might finally reply me saying there was no availability in my area. will that situation hurt my application?

My advice is to ask the Singapore guy to do a phone interview with you.

take note.
