Alumni Scholarship

Curious if anyone applied for an Alumni club scholarship - too late now but was wondering if anyone was able apply before the deadline - thanks

S did. Yep, hard to get it together by Dec. 1 when everything else (for us anyway) was due around that same time. Haven't heard anything, though. Has anyone else (and which Alumni Club)? We're San Diego.

S did too. We are in South Orange County, he was contacted for an interview and is interviewing next week. There is so much to keep track of in this whole process, if you are applying to multiple schools it is tough to know which scholarships are available.

to CollegeFrenzy, can I ask when was your son contacted and how did they contact him?
Thanks.

He was contacted by the local South Orange County Alumni chapter via an email not long after his March 3rd Presidential Scholarship interview, I think it was around March 10th or so.

In the email it congratulated him for being selected as a candidate for the Alumni Scholarship and he had to follow a link that connected him to schedule an appointment for the interview. It was not to a USC website, but to a local Alumni Club site. As I recall there were 30+ interview appointment spots so I assume there will be 30+ candidates interviewing.

It appears that each Local Alumni Association is independant of the other and they may all have their own time frame and method of contacting candidates.

The strange thing is that after his Presidential interview, my S got a series of email invites from Town & Gown, Alumni and SCion separately inviting him for a scholarship interview. So I don't know if that was coincidental or perhaps they communicate with each other on potential candidates.

Anyway we are hoping and praying he'll get something out of all these interviews. I guess if nothing else, he'll have a lot of interview experience under his belt for his future job searches.
